18 months into the pandemic, there are still some ramifications prospect athletes will face as they decide what college program they will play for. The key? Be flexible and ask questions. College athletes were granted another year of eligibility last year. This means prospect athletes should be prepared to be flexible or possibly take a red-shirt season their first year. Ask questions like: "How many players will be staying for an extra year?" and "Are there transfers coming in?"
NIL, or Name, Image & Likeness was recently accepted by the NCAA. This means athletes are able to profit off their likeness through sponsorships as influencers while competing in college athletics. However, this activity is still prohibited in high school athletics.
